Isuru reaches 1000 runs milestone with triple century

Moratu Vidyalaya skipper Isuru Nidharshana reached the 1000 runs milestone for the season with a remarkable triple century in their traditional encounter against former Division I team Zahira College, Maradana over the weekend.
Nidharshana who was one of the three leading batsmen in the ongoing Division I cricket tournament hammered 300 runs in 264 ball to propel Moratu Vidyalaya to 539 runs, season’s highest score.
With the tournament’s highest individual score, Nidharshana now has 1067 runs against his name. He has reached the milestone in 12 matches according to the statistics maintained by ‘The Island’.
His tally includes three centuries. Incidentally, all his centuries (105 – Mahinda, 118- St. Anne’s and 129- Holy Cross) have come during the tournament proper. One of the man features of his batting this season was his ability to convert half centuries to centuries. The only time that he could not convert a half to a century was when he scored back to back (61, 72) half centuries against top Division II team Lyceum International Wattala.
He has scored his runs to an impressive average of 62.76 runs.
He has also been successful with the ball during traditional matches.
