In a continued commitment to enriching lives and addressing urgent community needs, Sunshine Foundation for Good (SFG) – the CSR arm of Sunshine Holdings PLC – recently opened its 20th Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant in the rural village of Senagama, Naula. This initiative will provide safe drinking water to over 2,000 residents, aiming to improve health and alleviate the burden of waterborne diseases across the community.

At the opening ceremony, Sunshine Holdings Corporate Communications & CSR Manager Lalanthi Rajapakse said, “The prevailing cases of CKDu in many areas of Sri Lanka reflect the pressing need for safe drinking water. In such a context, the RO Plant we opened in Senagama is more than a water purification system; it is a lifeline that brings health, hope, and resilience to the community. Each plant we establish safeguards thousands from the dangers of waterborne diseases, Sunshine Holdings is committed to empowering these communities, one drop at a time and giving back to the society that we operate in.”

The Diyasarana initiative is Sunshine Foundation’s proactive response to addressing the CKDu crisis.
