Sri Lanka to showcase its heritage and innovation at Expo 2025 Osaka
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan and the Sri Lankan Business Community in Japan, is proud to announce Sri Lanka’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, which will take place from 13th April to 13th October 2025 in Osaka, Japan. This global event will serve as a significant platform for Sri Lanka to present its unique cultural heritage, innovation, and commitment to sustainability to an international audience.
The Opening Ceremony of Expo 2025 is scheduled for 12th April 2025, while the Opening Ceremony of the Sri Lanka Pavilion will be held on 13th April 2025, graced by officials from the Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan, a high-level Japanese delegation, and members of the Sri Lankan Business Community in Japan.
This event will allow Sri Lanka to showcase its rich cultural heritage, innovation, and commitment to sustainability to a global audience, and. foster international partnerships, and promote its tourism industry.
With 161 countries participating and an anticipated 28.2 million visitors, Expo 2025 offers a unique opportunity for Sri Lanka to elevate its global visibility, forge new international partnerships, and promote its tourism, trade, and cultural sectors. The participation is a testament to the country’s strategic vision in expanding its global footprint and engaging meaningfully with the international community.
The theme of Expo 2025 – “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” – emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and progress. This aligns seamlessly with Sri Lanka’s national priorities, including its commitment to sustainable tourism, environmental stewardship, and inclusive economic growth.
