South Korea jobs: E-8 category exclusively handled by govt.
Foreign Employment Bureau Chairman Koshala Wickremasinghe yesterday (25) declared that selection of youth for jobs offered by South Korea, under E-8 category, would only be done by the government.
Wickremasinghe emphasized that this was done to prevent private sector job agents from fleecing job seekers. The official said so at the handing over of air tickets to those selected to leave for South Korea next, at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment.
The Chairman urged the public not to seek the intervention of private operators as they couldn’t facilitate the process. A statement issued by SLBFE quoted Wickremasinghe as having said that those with knowledge of agriculture would be accommodated on the E-8 programme.
