SLNS Samudura takes part in naval exercise with Royal Navy’s HMS Kent

HMS)‘Kent’ at the port of Colombo engaging PASSEX with the Lankan Navy.

Royal Navy’s type 23 frigate HMS Kent arrived at the Colombo port for Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Lankan Naval Ship (SLNS) ‘Samudura’.

The visiting frigate engaged in a PASSEX with Sri Lanka Navy off Colombo and left the country on Sunday, Navy sources said.

The 133m long frigate HMS Kent is manned by 219 crew members.

Subsequent to her port call in Colombo, its Commanding Officer, Commander Matthew Sykes met with Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters.
