SLFP to present 15-point programme to President

SLFP General Secretary and State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara yesterday said that his party would present a 15-point programme to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during the meeting with him scheduled to be held tomorrow.
The 15-point programme containing proposed solutions for the current crises in the country had been prepared by the SLFP several weeks back, the Minister said.
Minister Jayasekera said that senior SLFP members, including its leader former President Maithripala Sirisena, would attend the meeting with President Rajapaksa.
SLFP National Organiser and State Minister of Solar Power Hydro and Wind Power Electricity Projects Development, Duminda Dissanayake said the SLFP would hold a special discussion with President Rajapaksa to express the stance of SLFP on the measures adopted by the government in connection with the sacking of former ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila.
State Minister Dissanayake said that their party supported the President’s efforts to strengthen the economy amidst the pandemic. He said their party was prepared to solve problems through discussions.
He said President Rajapaksa had given them an opportunity to discuss the recent proposals submitted by the SLFP regarding solutions to the current crises in the country.
