SLFP reality of SLPP?
MPs of Pohottuwa now have a habit of ridiculing their colleagues from other parties. They talk a lot about Pohottuwa and its so-called creator, Basil R. What Basil R did was just to give a name for the group of SLFP members, who did not leave Mahinda Rajapaksa when he was out of power. They have forgotten what they themselves were saying – Mahinda was defeated due to the acts of his family members, and Basil left the country immediately after Mahinda’s defeat.
Pohottuwa members also have overlooked the fact that almost all of them have got their political status established as SLFPers, and some as UNPers. A few of Pohottuwa members are children of prominent SLFP members, who brought up their children with all comforts as they held powerful positions in SLFP governments.
