Sirisena criticises continuous delay in holding PC polls
Former President and SLFP Chairman, Maithripala Sirisena yesterday condemned the delay in holding Provincial Council elections.
Speaking to the media in Colombo, Sirisena said: “We are opposed to postponing elections. We want to contest. In the coming months we will forge a strong political alliance, centered on the SLFP. We will also present a set of proposals that we think can get the country out of the mess it is in. We will form a government with those who agree with the manifesto.”
Sirisena added that the people were unhappy about politics in general.
