Prevailing showery condition over the island is expected to continue further during the next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern and North-central provinces and in Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, Northern and Southern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely at some places in the other areas.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and in Hambantota district. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle, Matara and Kaluthara districts after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in these areas.
Fairly strong winds of about 40 kmph can be expected at times over the Eastern slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota, Monaragala and Trincomalee districts.
