Seven years of good work appreciated
Dr. Christo Fernando is generally associated with the medical scene, but when it comes to music, the spotlight falls on his drumming capabilities.
As Social Secretary of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), Dr. Christo was responsible for the success of the annual Doctor’s Concert, and he was active for seven years.

However, Dr. Christo has decided to step down as Social Secretary and Doctor’s Concert organizer, due to pressure of work, being the Chairman of New Philip Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd., Kalutara.
At this year’s Doctor’s Concert, held on October 1st, Dr. Christo was felicitated by the SLMA, where a gift of appreciation was presented to him.
Dr. B J C Perera sang the Sinatra classic, ‘My Way, retitled ‘Your Way,’ specially for the occasion, backed by Dr. Farazad Nazeeem on keyboards, Upali Fernando on lead, Prashan Fernando on bass, and Dr. Christo Fernando, himself, on drums.
