Rotary with German help provides dry ration packs for Covid-19 affected
The Rotary Club of Wattala recently provided dry rations to over 200 families badly affected by the continuing Covid-19 epidemic. Project Coordinator Subramaniam Mohandas said that the successful completion of the project was made possible by financial assistance provided by Rotary Club Langenhagen-Wedemark and five individuals namely Mrs. Dr. Brigitte Pfleiderer, Harald Kaiser, Friedrich Harre, Mrs. Christel Kirchheimer and Manfred Möller to the tune of 2,000 Euros. Initially, Wattala Rotarians planned to provide dry rations to about 80 families, but voluntary German assistance made it possible for the organizers to expand the project to over 200 families. Mohandas said that each pack worth about USD 25 were distributed in three stages.
