Restrictions imposed on public in visiting Parliament to date eased
The Committee on Parliamentary Business, which met on Wednesday (14), decided to approve the proposal made by the Serjeant-at-Arms to relax restrictions on the public entering the parliamentary complex and the galleries.As a preliminary step, it was agreed to allow people including schoolchildren, to visit Parliament when it is not in session.
School children will be allowed to visit the Parliamentary Complex on non-Sitting days from 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. (except holidays) from 20 Sept.Schools can send their requests for permission to visit Parliament to the Serjeant-at-Arms by post or by Fax (0112777473/ 0112777335) or at www.parliament.lk.
