Remembering a Master Builder

He went about making the University of Kelaniya,
A South Asian seat of learning of noted brilliance,
Where the pursuit of the arts and the sciences,
Would thrive and be taken to new heights,
With Nalanda University of old setting the benchmark,
And the vision Prof. Emeritus Senake Bandaranayake,
Brought to bear on this great, epochal task,
With Out- of -the- Box thinking figuring with flair,
Is rarely found in our part of the world or outside,
And as we bow our heads to his undying memory,
Our wish is that the goal this fine spirit set for himself,
Would be pursued with zeal and reached before long,
By all those who swear allegiance to his rich legacy.
