Procurement of fake immunoglobulin: Chief Justice requested to name three-judge bench to hear case

Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe has asked the Chief Justice Murdu Fernando to appoint a Trial-at-Bar with a three-judge bench to hear a case filed in respect of the alleged procurement of fake human immunoglobulin.

Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella is among 12 persons against whom the high profile case has been filed.

The AG sought a three-judge bench in terms of the provisions included in the Judicature (Amendment) Act, No. 9 of 2018.

The CID arrested Rambukwella in February last year. The former Minister was granted bail in Sept. 2024.
