Power cuts today as well
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) yesterday announced a power cut plan for yesterday and today due to a grid failure on Sunday.
Power cuts are due to the non-availability of 900MW from the coal fired power plant in Norochcholai. The CEB’s power cut schedule has been approved by the Public Utilities Commission.
The CEB confirmed that power cuts would be implemented across the ountry. Power cuts will last one-and-a-half hours each day, and will occur between 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (IN)
