Plans are underway to build the first ever lithic pagoda in America

The first ever lithic pagoda will be built in the premises of the Indiana Buddhist Temple in America.

It is planned to place several granite statues at the temple.

The pagoda is being built with the guidance and patronage of chief prelate of historic Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya and Lankarama and Indiana Buddhist Temples of America Ven. Talangama Devananda Thera.

In building this venerated pagoda not only Sri Lankans but also devotees of other nationalities and religions too have associated with the Ven. Thera.

Among these lithic sculptures are Arahant Sariputha and Moggallana, wheel of Dhamma, Arahat Ananda, Arahat Seevali, Taming of Nalagiri and many other pagodas and statues are also to be placed at this holy site.

Well-wishers from Indonesia, America and Sri Lanka too have helped make the project a success.
