New Media Solutions Emerges Most Awarded Corporate Communications Agency at Effie Awards 2025
New Media Solutions, a leading player in homegrown media, brand communications and public relations, recently secured multiple recognitions at the Effie Awards Sri Lanka, emerging as the most awarded traditional and digital corporate communications agency at this year’s ceremony.
The agency won two Silver Effie Awards for the widely acclaimed ‘Daintee Gingerbread House’ campaign executed for Sunshine Consumer Lanka Ltd. (Daintee). The campaign also earned a Merit Effie Finalist recognition in another category, highlighting its strong creative strategy and measurable marketing effectiveness.
In addition, New Media Solutions’ work on the ‘My Zesta Story’ campaign for Sunshine Consumer Lanka Ltd. (Zesta) received two Bronze Effie Awards, reflecting the campaign’s success in driving consumer engagement and strengthening brand affinity through innovative storytelling and digital engagement.
Beyond these wins, New Media Solutions also secured multiple Merit Effie Finalist recognitions for campaigns executed for Softlogic Life Insurance PLC, including the socially driven #LetsChangeTheStory initiative and seasonal campaigns such as ‘Siduhath Upatha AR Asin Softlogic Life Vesak’ and ‘Flying Santa’, which showcased the agency’s ability to combine creative storytelling with innovative digital and experiential marketing approaches.
Commenting on the recognition, New Media Solutions Managing Director Nilupa Sanjaya Liyanage said the awards reflect the agency’s continued commitment to delivering impactful campaigns built on creativity, cultural relevance and strategic insight.

Cabinet approves 14 day Visa extension
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution furnished bys the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to extend Visas of those unable to leave Sri Lanka due to the
cancellation of flights to the Middle East from 28.02.2026 for another 14 days without any payments and re-extend the extended Visas for another 14 days without payments if the flights cancellations continue.

Sunil Galagama appointed as District Secretary Badulla
Taking into consideration the resolution furnished by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Council, and Local Government, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to appoint Sunil Galagama, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who is currently serving as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, as the District Secretary to Badulla Administrative District with immediate effect.

The Cabinet of Ministers, taking into consideration the resolution furnished by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Council, and Local Government, have decided to appoint Anupama Mangala Wickramaarachchi, a special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who is serving as the Additional Commissioner General of Agrarian Development of the Department of the Agrarian Development at present, as the District Secretary , Ampara Administrative district with immediate effect.
