Mangoes and apples fit for pigs

What appears above is an appetising bowl of fruits. In reality, none of it is edible. The fruits came in a basket gifted to us and the basket was delivered presumably by the vendor. Scores of people are cheated in this manner by these vendors. The mangoes are raw and would not ripen but rot; one already is rotten. The apples had been picked about 6-8 weeks back, well before their maturity or fallen in a storm and are probably good pig feed.

But why are they sold for the consumption of humans ? I have lived in 4 countries, one then as poor as we were in 2018. I never had the ordeal of being sold pig feed for consumption. Our vendors, whether of fruits, vegetables or fish, are as rotten as the wares they sell. With corruption so pervasive in our society, why expect an exception from traders, in particular?

This society is so rotten that only a Voltaire can make sense of it.
