Kiriella says net has been laid to topple the govt.
Chief Opposition Whip and Kandy District SJB MP Lakshman Kiriella yesterday said that all was set to topple the SLPP administration and the formation of a new government would be only a matter of time.
Speaking at a ceremony at Kadugannawa to open the party’s Yatinuwara main electorate office, MP Kiriella said that plans had been laid down to topple the government. “We have made all preparations for toppling this government and we are waiting for the opportune time.”
The Chief Opposition Whip said that the government had failed to manage the economy. “The government is taking cover behind the COVID pandemic.
Countries such as India and the UK have been able to manage their economies and control the prices even while they fight the pandemic. The government does not know how to manage the economy and as a result of that prices of essential items have gone up.”
