Japanese FM Hayashi Yoshimasa joins an inspection tour at the Port of Colombo

During his recent official visit to Sri Lanka, Japan’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hayashi Yoshimasa, made a special inspection tour at the Port of Colombo (POC). Keith D. Bernard, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), warmly welcomed the Japanese Foreign Minister and his delegation at the port control tower premises.

From the port control tower, the Japanese FM and the delegation inspected the port’s strategic positioning and ongoing operations. As a token of appreciation, the SLPA Chairman presented the Japanese Foreign Minister with a special memento during the occasion. Additionally, the Japanese Foreign Minister took the opportunity to inspect the Japanese warship JS Samindare, which had docked at the POC.

Hideaki Mizukoshi, the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, as well as SLPA’s Director (Marketing and Business Development / Media) – Sarath Dayananda, Director (Security) – Maj. Gen. Sudath Perera (Retd), Harbour Master Nirmal P. Silva, and Chief Manager (Communication and Public Relations) – Chitral Jayawarna also attended the event.
