Jaffna Management Faculty signs MoU with CIPM
The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University of Jaffna entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka, recently, at the Jaffna University premises.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Jaffna University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Prof. B. Nimalathasan, Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, Dr T Raveendran, Prof. N.Kengatharan, other academic staff members, CIPM SL Treasurer, Col Saman Jayawickrama, Chief Executive Officer U. A. C. Obesekere, and Director of Professional and Academic Affairs, G. Weerathunga. President of CIPM, Ken Vijayakumar, marked his presence, at the event, by participating online. The MoU aims will enhance the development of students in human resources and strengthen the HR fraternity. Towards this goal, both parties will organize webinars, seminars, training and development programmes and workshops while collaborating on research and joint publications, creating awareness, regarding the applicability of human resources and its dynamic role in modern society. Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Prof. B.Nimalathasan, said: “We are extremely pleased to have signed a MoU with CIPM SL. Our University will benefit from the high-quality programmes and activities initiated, and we believe it offers a mutually beneficial relation-ship. I urge our students to take the maximum opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in HR practices, reaping greater dividends in their future pathways.”
President of CIPM, Ken Vijayakumar, said: “Today, we recognize that enhancing human resource knowledge encompassing both professional and academic programmes is necessary for students to be globally competitive. The strength and reach of our Institute will enable students of the Jaffna University to experience a collaborative environment and scale greater heights in their future careers.” Supporting the University, CIPM will design programmes catering to discerning students and the HR fraternity, thereby upgrading their knowledge in line with emerging global challenges.
