Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend the four-day truce in Gaza for another two days, mediator Qatar says.

The Gulf state provided no further details, but Israel had offered a day’s pause in the fighting for every 10 additional Israeli hostages freed.

A Palestinian source also told the BBC that the truce had been extended.

It came as both sides prepared for the final exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners under the initial deal that took effect on Friday.
