IMF demands proper inquiry

Informed sources said that the IMF was closely following the ongoing investigation into the procurement of fake immunoglobulin. Sources said that the IMF had made known its concerns to the government at the highest level and the police advised in this regard accordingly.
Dr. Rukshan Bellana said that the IMF and other lending agencies as well as bilateral donors should inquire into the handling of procurement. “I sincerely hope India takes up this matter at the highest level as the health ministry accepted a fake product on the basis of false documents furnished by a corrupt enterprise that had no qualms in claiming the vials of immunoglobulin were procured from India.”
