Her dream vacation would be…
Michelle Perera is the daughter of Melantha, and Melantha Perera is a big name in the entertainment scene. Michelle, too, is an entertainer, and that is exactly what she is doing right now, in the Maldives – performing with her husband. She was also an air hostess, did some modelling, and…oh, yes, she is a psychologist, as well. My Chit-Chat with Michelle went as follows:
1. How would you describe yourself?
I would say – humble, caring and loving.
2. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’m quite happy, and satisfied, the way God has created me. So, my answer would be, I love myself and I wouldn’t change a thing.
3. If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?
We are one lovely, happy family and there is nothing in this world I would give to change that family bond, and happiness, in any way.
4. School?
My school days were spent in the UAE and I studied at the Westminster British school, in Dubai.
5. Happiest moment?
All my happy moments were with my grandfather. He was my father figure, because my dad was away, on assignments, as a musician.. I remember his office room was close to the music room, so, to get his attention, I would play his favourite song, “Annie’s Song”, on the piano and, however much he’s busy, he’ll look at me and smile and sometimes come and start singing…. We would eat together, play together, etc.. He will never forget to get me a chocolate, everyday, after work. He used to tour a lot, so every time he comes home, his entire suitcase will be filled with goodies for me.
6. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Wow, being loved, unconditionally!
7. Are you religious?
Oh, yes I am. I’m thankful, in every way, to my Creator, for His awesome love and care. And, I do what my religion expect me to do..
8. Are you superstitious?
At times. Let’s say when the 13th falls on a Friday. Yes, I feel a little uneasy when it’s Friday the 13th!
9. Your ideal guy?
Let’s say, 10 years back I would have said – tall, dark and handsome! Well, not anymore.. I value someone smart, talented, loving, caring, religious, and someone who keeps me happy always – plus, plus.
10. Which living person do you most admire?
My mom. She’s extremely loving, caring and she’s the most patient person ever. I love you, mum.
11. Which is your most treasured possession?
My family, Truly, I’m blessed with such a wonderful family..
12. If you were marooned on a desert island, who would you like as your companion?
Interesting question. Being marooned on a desert island you would, obviously, need someone to cheer you up! Well, I have in mind that particular someone, and I know this person for quite a while, now, Therefore, I would opt for him because he has the ability to cheer people up – always!
13. Your most embarrassing moment?
Too embarrassing to talk about. If I do, I would be embarrassing myself…all over again.
14. Done anything daring?
Nope.
15. Your ideal vacation?
My dream vacation would be to have someone pick me up, at my door, in a limo, then drive me to the airport, carry my luggage to the check-in counter, escort me to my first class seat, and have the cabin crew wait on me, hand and foot. There would be someone waiting to pick me up at my destination to drive me (in a limo) to either a spa or a waiting cruise ship. Someone would make my bed everyday, turn it down every night, prepare all my meals, bring me drinks, on deck, or by the pool, then limo me back to the airport, and home again!
16. What kind of music are you into?
Pop, R n B, jazz.
17. Favourite radio station:
Gold FM because I love this retro stuff, and this particular station is number one when it comes to the music of the past.
18. Favourtie TV station:
Sorry, I hardly watch TV.
19. What would you like to be born as in your next life?
Perhaps, a world famous princess.
20. Any major plans for the future?
Well, I’m planning on releasing my wedding song, which is a duet, composed and written by my husband.
