Galadari Colombo wins SLIM Kantar People’s Hotel Brand of the Year 2024
Victory for the 05th Consecutive Time!
The Galadari Colombo was once again awarded the honour of being the People’s Heartfelt Brand for the fifth successful time, winning the SLIM Kantar People’s Hotel Brand of the Year 2024.
SLIM Kantar People’s Awards 2024, organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), is an event that brings life to the voice and choice of the Sri Lankan people. The awards ceremony took place recently at the Monarch Imperial, in the company of distinguished guests and invitees.
This event stands out as the only awards ceremony to honour the choice of the people and is set to reveal the brands and personalities closest to their hearts. Kantar, a leading global research agency, since 2021, in collaboration with SLIM has elevated the credibility of the SLIM Kantar People’s Awards, ensuring rigorous research methodologies are incorporated into the process of selection.
SLIM Kantar People’s Awards has been a significant national event in Sri Lanka, giving people an opportunity to share their love and enthusiasm to their heartfelt brands. The Cabinet of Ministers granted their concurrence to the resolution furnished by the Minister of Youth Affairs to appoint S. Achchudan of Special Grade of Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who is currently serving as an Additional Commissioner of Elections at the Elections Commission who is
recommended by the panel of interviewers to the post of Director General of the Sports Development Department with effect form 01.01.2026.
The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to the proposal furnished by the Minister of Environment to publish the draft bill of the National Environment (Amended) Act in the government gazette notification and subsequently to submit the same to the Parliament for its concurrence.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Buddhism, Religious, and Cultural Affairs to provide tax relief on imported dates received as donations or gift for Ramadan.
This year’s Ramadan fasting season is scheduled to begin on 19-02-2026 and end on 21-03-2026.
