‘Fleecing the hungry’ – a response
Mr Editor may I hasten to congratulate you for the no-holds-barred editorial today, ‘Fleecing the hungry’ (09/09).Susil Premajantha must have entertained the many muppets seated around him as an honest man in shining armour standing up to protect the self-esteem of millions of malnourished children, Kudos to the administration where he was a part of.
He tried to impress the gullible voters taking them to be asses by jumping a TRI SHAW when he was kicked out by GR. His self-respect was manifestly clear when he tucked his tail (I wish he had one ) between his legs and went back when he was offered a portfolio again by the same man obviously trying to bluff pretending that was to serve the country.
Premajantha had been in the legislature for many years and had travelled all over the world at state cost and also collected many car permits and his acting to convince the country that he did not own a car was mind boggling. It is well known that he even hosted family events in five-star hotels and all that money did not come from Hulftsdorf hill.
We have learnt that 37 state ministers had been appointed. Each of them cost the poor starving millions 38.4 million in 2020. On this basis can we, who have millions struggling to have one meal a day expend 1500 million to maintain these men and women who still shamelessly trade on the mandate they got where they reduced us to the level of beggars. Yes it was said some TAMIL NADU beggars too donated to feed our starving millions.
Another despicable appointment was a RAJAPAKSA creeping out of the woodworks with a poor track record relating to fertiliser where the country lost billions and a vocal colleague who attempted to show that he was a lily white angel disclaiming responsibility.
Please permit me to use your words which the nation unreservedly accept that “That the whole world knows that we are a bankrupt nation and millions of people are starving here.”
I hasten to add where we the voters outrageously watch those unworthy to be in a national legislature still continue to bleed us while asking the world for support for survival.I commend to all helpless people to read the Editorial of the 9th September.
Premajantha should realise that Aragalaya has awakened a nation that was in deep slumber where politicians plundered the wealth of the country by misleading them using race and religion and eagerly look forward to using their franchise.
