Eight SSPs transferred

Eight Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), including the Director of the Ministerial Security Division (MSD), have been transferred with immediate effect, police sources said.

Police said SSP P.M.K.D. Paliskara has been transferred from the CID to the post of Director of the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID).

SSP C.B. Medawala has been moved from the position of Director of the MSD to become the Director of the Special Security Division.

SSP K.G.P.B. Samarapala has been transferred from the Colombo (North) Division to take over as the Director of the Police Mounted Division, while SSP K.C. Thilakaratne has been moved from the Galle Division to the Director of the Police Supply Division.

SSP A.A. Edirimanne, Director of the Police Human Rights Division, has been transferred to serve as the SSP in charge of the Galle Division. SSP P.G. Darshana has been transferred from the post of Director of the Judicial Security Division to become the Director of the Training Division.

Police said SSP L.A.D. Ratnaweera has been transferred from the Monaragala Division to the Mullaitivu Division, while SSP K.N. Gunawardena has been moved from the post of Director of the Police Marine Division to the Monaragala Division.

The National Police Commission has approved these transfers, police headquarters sources said.
