Dubai-based Dribblers Basketball Academy founded by a former national Sri Lanka captain have arrived in Sri Lanka to play a series of matches against schools in Colombo and Kandy from July 12 to 17.

Founded in 2011, the Dribblers academy has established itself as a renowned institution for honing basketball skills and nurturing young talent. With a rich history of training and developing exceptional players, the academy has decided to bring its expertise and competitive spirit yet again to Sri Lanka.

Dribblers Basketball Academy will be bringing three talented teams: Junior boys, Senior boys, and Senior girls accompanied by head coach Sujith Croos, coach Thilina Jayaratne and Nirupa Croos (team manager).

The Colombo matches will be held at the Sri Lanka Air Force court July 12 and 14 and against Kotelawala Defence University on July 13.

The tour will continue in Kandy with matches on July 16 and 17 at the Municipal Indoor Stadium.

“Months of dedicated training has been put in by the coaches, to gear up the teams and the players are now confident and ready to face the ultimate challenge ahead of them in Sri Lanka. The main objective of this tour is to give our players the experience of playing in a competitive environment embracing challengers with an undying team spirit to achieve a common goal. It takes only a player to shoot a basket, but a team to win the game. This is what we cultivate at Dribblers…. Moreover, this tour will provide our players the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and techniques learnt during training sessions and give them exposure to practical experience. This will enhance and develop their individual and team skills, thus providing players the opportunity to bring out the best potential in their performance. Dribblers Basketball Academy is excited to share their passion for the sport and aims to have a successful and memorable tour in Sri Lanka,” stated Sujith Croos.
