Communication Debacle

In the Isle of diverse peoples,
North-South bridge-building,
Is unlikely to come to pass,
And this is proved with aplomb,
By none other than those,
Avaricious for the prize plum,
Who ‘strut’ across the North-East,
And address its citizens,
With us centuries-long,
And heirs to a proud culture,
In the majority tongue,
So foreign to most of them,
And these posers beg for answers;
Doesn’t this cement current divisions?
Aren’t rulers and those hopeful of ruling,
Being disdainful of minority tongues?
