Colombo Times Sinhala Edition launched

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr Rizvi Salih launching the Sinhala edition of Colombo Times at an Ifthar function at Hotel Mandarina. Colombo Times, a web portal in Sri Lanka which is currently being published in English and Tamil, launched its Sinhala edition on Thursday (13) at an ifthar function at the Hotel Mandarina, Colombo.The Editor in Chief of Colombo Times and chief correspondent for Arab News in Sri Lanka, Mohammad Rasooldeen, hosted the Ifthar reception.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvi Salih and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid Hamoud Alkahtani, who were invited as special guests, launched the new internet edition in the presence of Western Province Governor Hanif Yusuf.

At the ifthar event, Hejaaz International School Staffer Ash Sheik Shafraz Iqbal addressed the gathering on the significance of Ramadan.

Mohammad Rasooldeen presented a token of appreciation to the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvi Salih, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid Hamoud Alkahtani and Travellor Global Private Limited Chairman Rizmi Reyal in appreciation of their services to the nation.

Diplomats from Malaysia, Cuba, Turkey, Indonesia, the Maldives, Vietnam, Pakistan, Palestine, Bangladesh, Iran and Oman graced the occasion. Chairman of the IDM Nations Campus Dr V Janagan was also present. His daughter Shaheera paid a emotional tribute to her father who founded Colombo Times.
