Charter Installation Ceremony of BASL Toastmasters Club

The President and Secretary of the BASL with the Charter Executive Committee of the BASL Toastamsters Club

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka Toastmasters Club successfully held its charter installation recently at the BASL Auditorium. This is the first Toastmasters Club established exclusively for members of the legal fraternity.

The Chief Guest at this occasion was Kalinga Indatissa, President’s Counsel, President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka and the Guest of Honour was top Toastmaster Balraj Arunasalam. The occasion was also graced by Rajeev Amarasuriya, Secretary of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, President’s Counsel, members of the legal profession and numerous members of the Toastmasters fraternity.

The charter Executive Committee of the BASL Toastmasters Club includes Chamath Fernando, AAL – President, Kaushalya Meedeniya, AAL – Vice President – Education, Kaushali Dayaratne, AAL – Vice President – Membership, Nadeeka Kularatne, AAL – Vice President – Public Relations, Shenali Dias, AAL – Secretary, Chathura Ameratunga, AAL – Treasurer and Dilan Senadheera, AAL – Sergeant-at-Arms.

Distinguished Toastmaster Balraj Arunasalam presented the Club Sponsor and Mentor, Distinguished Toastmaster Dushyanthi Adikary, AAL with an award in recognition of her efforts in helping to charter the club.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka Toastmasters Club offers members of the legal profession an opportunity to improve their communication and leadership skills in a supportive environment and in an affordable manner. The Bar Association of Sri Lanka Toastmasters Club has further plans to conduct Speechcraft programmes and expand its reach to the regional Bars.
