Canadian visa shock

Has anybody applied for a Canadian Visa in the recent past and obtained it successfully because I have applied for same more than two months back and still not received it despite going through an Agent namely Mackinnons from whom I have purchased the Air Ticket, filled an exhaustive set of forms, paid hard cash amounting to LKR 45,000 performed Biometrics at the Visa Centre at Gitanjali Place Colombo 3. Incidentally, I was charged LKR 8,000 as Lounge Charges by the Visa Centre and according to the Agent this was because I sat on an arm chair, there would have been no charge whatsoever had I sat on an ordinary chair. Hilarious!! To say the least. Despite several phone calls, emails, visits to the embassy where you get no live messages other than pre-recorded messages where there is no positive response in the name of COVID ‘GOD FORBID COVID’ why do they take the money? If they are unable to issue the visa in the name of COVID?? This is highway robbery and even worse than ‘gunboat diplomacy’ where large powerful nations bully small countries such as ours. Kan Butani
