Cabinet nod to present recommendations of the Finance Commission for the year 2025 before parliament
As per the provisions of Article 154R of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Finance Commission has been assigned to make the recommendations on the principles about the resource requirements for the provincial councils and the principles of the setting aside of the grants allocated from the national budget to each provincial council.
The Finance Commission has submitted the report including the requirement of recurrent and capital expenses recommended by the Finance Commission for the allocation of grants from the national budget for the year 2025 for each provincial council.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the President, to present the said recommendations before Parliament as per the provisions of the sub article 154R(7) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
