Blasphemy and Judgment

The revenge-seekers bided their time,
Nursing self-righteous anger all the while,
Upholding, they claim, the good name of God,
But there’s this nugget in moral thought,
That needs to be held close to their hearts,
By those claiming the moral high ground,
And daring to take a judgmental stance,
In this bloody attempt on Salman Rushdie’s life;
‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay’, says the Lord.
