Big scene for Rajiv, The Clan and Falan in the UK and Europe!

Rajiv and his band The Clan are certainly big, in the scene here, and Rajiv had worked on major plans to celebrate their 30 years, in showbiz.

It was all worked out to commence, in 2020, with special events, locally, as well as concerts, abroad.

Unfortunately, the unexpected happened…Covid cropped up and all Rajiv’s plans came to nothing, but not before he and The Clan embarked on a trip to Dubai, in January 2020.

“It was actually the launch of our 30-year celebrations,” said Rajiv. “It was a dance, organised by some of the old boys of St. Peter’s College.”

With the Covid pandemic moving into top gear, entertainment, the world over, came to a complete standstill.

However, no sooner the pandemic eased a bit, and entertainment was given the green light, Rajiv and The Clan, along with Yohani, of ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ fame, and Falan Andrea, Derana Dream Star winner, travelled to Dubai, in February, this year (2022), and to Oman, a month later (March), to oblige music lovers, in that part of the world.

Rajiv is now ready to set off on another overseas tour, and this time he would be doing his thing, with The Clan, and Falan Andrea, in the UK and Europe.

The versatile singer says he is excitedly looking forward to this assignment.

“We will probably be away for, let’s say three to four weeks, and will be featured at several events, in both the UK and Europe.”

In celebrating their 25th Anniversary, the band was engaged in a series of dinner dances, in the UK and Europe.

They are scheduled to leave sometime next month (July), but the only concern, at the moment, seems to be the resurgence of Covid-19, especially in England.

Joey Lewis, who is now based in England, had to cancel his trip to Canada, for his first-ever live performance, at the ‘Reflections’ dinner dance, held last Friday (June 17th), in Toronto, due to the Covid issue, in England.

Said Joey: “Yes, terribly disappointed that I had to remove myself, from headlining the show, but these are unpredictable times, we are living in, and have to deal with it all, as such.

“Covid is still very much in our midst, causing difficulties in people’s lives, but its presence has been overshadowed by all the other terrible difficulties the world is facing, right now.”

Rajiv says he and The Clan have already been contracted to perform at a popular venue in Colombo.
