Avurudu celebrations at British School
The British School in Colombo (BSC) celebrated the 2024 Sinhala and Tamil New Year with several cultural events and traditional games during their special Avurudu Assembly held at the school premises.
The school has over 53 nationalities with students from all over the world, they joined hands to celebrate this important event on a grand scale .
The highlights of the event showcased many Sri Lankan traditions and rituals, featuring cultural songs and dance performances presented by the talented performers of both the junior and senior schools.
The Avurudu celebrations had all the splendour, games and deep rooted rituals. The guests and students were entertained with traditional sweet meats and kiribath.
