Athuru Katha launched

‘Methiwarana Antharakaranye Athuru Katha’ (Supplementary Stories of Inclusive Elections: A review of the Inclusive Election Culture in Sri Lanka), a book compiled and published by the Disability Organisations Joint Front (DOJF), together with its audio rendition, was launched at the Monarch Imperial hotel on Thursday.
The book and the audio clip draws the attention of readers and listeners to the rights of persons with disabilities and how they could be included in the election process and provided the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
The key note speech was delivered by Manjula Gajanayake, Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Reforms and Electoral Studies (IRES), while Pradeep Yasarathne, District Secretary Colombo, was the Chief guest at the launch.
The first copy of the Sinhala edition of the book was presented to Saman Sri Ratnayake, Commissioner General of Elections, by the President of DOJF Nihal Paranagama and General Secretary of DOJF Rasanjali Pathirage
