Atamasthanadhipathi Ven Pallegama Hemarathana Nayake Thera visits Saranath
Most Ven Pallegama Hemarathana Nayake Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Great Eight Buddhist Shrines (Atamasthanadhipathi) of Anuradhapura, visited the Jambudvipa Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Sarnath, Varanasi.
The visit was part of a pilgrimage to sacred Buddhist sites associated with the life of the Buddha in India.
Upon arrival, Most Ven Nayake Maha Thera was warmly received by Venerable Dr. K. Siri Sumedha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Jambudvipa Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, along with Venerable Dr. K. Medhankar Thera of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Temple, Ven Anomadassi Thera, Viharadhipathi of Lankarama Temple, and Maha Thera of Jayanthi Vihara.
The delegation also included Daminda Porage, President of the Tibet-Sri Lanka Buddhist Brotherhood Society, along with other distinguished delegates, according to a statement issued by the Jambudvipa Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Sarnath, Varanasi.
