Anxious wait for Kapilasena

Saha Kapilasena reached the Under 16 boys singles final with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the semi-final of the National Tennis Championship at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts. But he will have an anxious wait as the quarter-final and the semi-final of the bottom half of the draw were yet to be completed.
Kapilasena beat Amal Sabry 6-2, 6-1 after emerging victorious against Lithum Jayabandu (7-5, 6-3) in the quarter-finals.
The winner of the quarter-final between Louis Knese and Mayooran Kubherane was set to meet Damsath Peiris in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, in the Under 14 girls’ doubles semi-finals Hesandee Mallawa and Anaya Norbet beat Vinuthi Kulatilaka and Janani Dahamsa 5-4 (7), 2-4, 10-3 and Navya Banagala and Sahansa Damsiluni beat Sayuni Udawatt and Sayli Basnayake 4-2, 4-1.
In the Under 12 girls doubles semi-finals, Methuli Naotunne and Kiara Jayamanne beat Risindi Hewawasam and Sanuthi Wong 4-0, 5-3 and Samaira Fernando and Sethuli Muthugama beat Isali Abeysinghe and Eranya Ruhulan 4-1, 4-0.
