Another IMF team here next week

Another team of officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to visit Sri Lanka next week.
Minister of Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe told the media that the team would hold extensive discussions on the second tranche of the Extended Fund Facility for Sri Lanka.
The discussions will focus on the country’s tax policy and other economic developments.
The Minister said that officials are hoping to reach a final decision on the matter later next week. The visit takes place in the wake of the suspension of the second tranche of USD 2.9 bn bailout package primary over Sri Lanka’s failure to meet revenue targets as agreed in talks with the Washington-based lending agency.
