Allround RCB hand Delhi Capitals fifth straight loss
A clinical powerplay bowling effort saw Royal Challengers Bangalore return to winning ways with a 23-run thumping of Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (April 15). Despite Virat Kohli’s 47th IPL half-century, and a handful of other cameos in the 20s, RCB were restricted to 174/6 courtesy a fine spin bowling performance from the Capitals but they just didn’t show up with the bat. DC top-order caved against RCB’s seamers, losing three in the first 14 balls of the chase and their captain by the end of the powerplay, to quickly let the game, and those elusive first points, slip.
Brief scores:
Royal Challengers Bangalore 174/6 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 50; Kuldeep Yadav 2-23, Mitch Marsh 2-18) beat Delhi Capitals 151/9 in 20 overs (Manish Pandey 50; Vijaykumar Vyshak 3-20, Mohammed Siraj 2-23) by 23 runs
