Sri Lanka’s relay quartet established a new championship record to win the men’s 4×400 metres relay gold on the final day of the Asian Athletics Championship in Thailand on Sunday. They are posing here after their historic triumph. The Sri Lanka team’s gold medal-winning feat of 3:01.56 seconds is the tenth fastest performance in the men’s 4×400 metres in the world this year.

The team (from left) of Rajitha Rajakaruna, Kalinga Kumarage, Aruna Dharshana and Pabasara Niku will now be aiming to do well at this year’s Asian Games and will also be looking forward to earn their place at the World Championships.
