Laugfs makes gas consumers scream, again

Laugfs has increased the price of the 12.5 kg domestic gas cylinder by Rs. 1,359, and the new price reported is Rs. 4,199.
In August, 2021 the price of a 12.5 kg gas cylinder was increased from Rs 1,493 to Rs 1,856 and, again, in October it was increased to 2,840. Now, it has increased to Rs 4,199.
The price of the 5 kg Laugfs Gas cylinder has been increased by Rs. 544 and the new price is Rs. 1,680.
Laugfs has not yet made any official announcement about the increase but Laugfs agents confirmed the price increase.
Attempts to contact Laugfs Gas Chairman HK Weagpitiya were not successful.

Cabinet approves 14 day Visa extension
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution furnished bys the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to extend Visas of those unable to leave Sri Lanka due to the
cancellation of flights to the Middle East from 28.02.2026 for another 14 days without any payments and re-extend the extended Visas for another 14 days without payments if the flights cancellations continue.

Anupama Mangala Wickramaarachchi appointed District Secretary Ampara
The Cabinet of Ministers, taking into consideration the resolution furnished by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Council, and Local Government, have decided to appoint Anupama Mangala Wickramaarachchi, a special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who is serving as the Additional Commissioner General of Agrarian Development of the Department of the Agrarian Development at present, as the District Secretary , Ampara Administrative district with immediate effect.
