Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, North-central provinces and Trincomalee district while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The prevailing dry weather conditions are expected to change from 23 January.
