Milinda Moragoda, Founder of the Pathfinder Foundation, met with Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, over a luncheon meeting held at the Ambassador’s residence to discuss ways of further strengthening China-Sri Lanka relations.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to engage in a wide-ranging discussion on key issues, including the current global landscape, the bilateral relationship between China and Sri Lanka, the investment climate in Sri Lanka for Chinese enterprises, and other topical matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Moragoda briefed Ambassador Qi on the recent activities of the China-Sri Lanka Cooperation Studies Centre, which operates under the Pathfinder Foundation. He noted that several Chinese delegations are expected to visit the Foundation in the coming weeks—an initiative aimed at deepening mutual understanding and enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Moragoda also conveyed the Foundation’s interest in collaborating with Chinese institutions that are looking to engage more closely with South Asia, and Sri Lanka in particular.

Pathfinder Foundation Chairman Bernard Goonetilleke also participated in the discussions, along with Ambassador Qi and diplomatic staff from the Chinese Embassy.

The Pathfinder Foundation continues to play a significant role in fostering policy dialogue and strengthening Sri Lanka’s international partnerships, particularly with key strategic partners like China.
