Misty conditions can be expected in most places of the island during the morning.

Several spells of showers will occur in Northern and Eastern provinces and in Anuradhapura district. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Kurunegala, Galle and Matara districts during the evening or night.

Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.

The low pressure area located northeast of the Sri Lanka, still persist. this system is expected to move away from Sri Lanka and gradually weaken during the next 36 hours.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-western and Northern provinces.Showers or thundershowers may occur elsewhere of the island after 1.00 pm. Heavy falls about 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Northern provinces and in Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur at other places of the island after 1.00 pm. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and Uva provinces and in Ampara, Batticaloa, Galle and Matara districts.
