Showers will occur at times in Western, North-western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Batticaloa, and Ampara districts during the evening or night. Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.
Strong winds about (40-45)kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills and in Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Matale and Monaragala districts.
Winds will be Westerly or South-westerly in direction in the sea areas and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph.
Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai and from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle and up to 60 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar will be rough at times while the sea areas off the coasts extending from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai and from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle will be fairly rough at times.

Dry weather will prevail except for a few showers in the Southern province and Rathnapura district

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Northern, North-central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva and North-western provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Except for showers or thundershowers that may occur at a few places in the Southern province and Rathnapura district after 2.00 pm, dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.

It is generated by the Department of Meteorology for the next day period and prepared by using global numerical weather prediction model data.

Effect of the heat index on human body is mentioned in the above table and it is prepared on the advice of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services.
