Showers may occur in Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Puttalam district

Several spells of showers may occur in Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Puttalam district while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu district during the evening or night.

Winds will be south-westerly and speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Batticaloa via Pottuvil.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Batticaloa via Pottuvil will be rough at times.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The South-West monsoon is gradually getting established over the island.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa Northern and North-western provinces and in Anuradhapura,  Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the above areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 pm.

Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
