Thundershowers may occur at a few places in Rathnapura and Kalutara districts

Several spells of light showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Rathnapura and Kalutara districts during the afternoon or night. Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the morning.

Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and in sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces and in Ampara district during the early hours of the morning.

Showery weather condition is expected to enhance over the  Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces in next few days.

Showers may occur at times in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces while showers or thundershowers will occur in  other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy
showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
