Sri Lanka Missing in Action

Sri Lanka has not yet signed the UN’s Gender Campaign, it was revealed at the UN noon briefing in New York last week when the full list of signatories was disclosed.

“Sri Lanka Missing in Action” was the cryptic comment of TM Deen, ex of the Ceylon Observer and one of the most senior journalists accredited to the UN in New York who sent us the full list of 35 signatories.

Among South Asian nations Bangladesh and the Maldives were in the list but not India and Pakistan. None of the big powers including the U.S., China, UK and Russia were signatories though some European countries had signed.
